Centennial Protection Group personnel learn of an active fire and enter apartment building to evacuate residents and pets.

At approximately 4:16 pm, Wednesday afternoon, Sgt Phil Tabron and Operations Manager Cory Austin learned of an active fire in the unit block of Snowberry Court, Essex, Maryland. As the first responders to the building, they entered and discovered an active fire in the kitchen of a third floor apartment.

They sprang into action, without regard to their own safety, and began to assist evacuating residents and pets. After notifying all occupants of the building, they actively assisted the elderly and carried pets from the building.

Their efforts allowed for safe evacuations prior to fire department arrival. There were no reported injuries.
